I had problems with the new Sigmatel driver - lots of stuttering generally and it would take about 5 secs for a track to start playing in Media Player. I've gone back to the previous version.

Ya, I had issues with the onboard sound in serious sam 2, so I just use my audigy and BAM, no problems.

I don't get the stuttering, but I noticed the delay in WMP. Weird.

Just flashed mine and so far so good. Getting tired tonight will do some testing tomorrow.

Does anyone know if this fixes the PS2 keyboard recognition on boot?

Heh, I have the thing sitting on my desktop, hoping someone else would "update" and let me know before I "updated" the BIOS for the umpteenth time. Any takers?

I had the same problem with the new Sigmatel audio driver. It actually disable my audio capabilities when I used Windows Live Messenger and my Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 (with Vista x64). Once I removed it and used Microsoft's standard High Definition sound drivers, everything worked again without any problems. I really wanted to use the Sigmatel driver with my Vista64 OS but guess I'll have to wait for the next update.

I have updated to BIOS 2663 a few days ago. Nothing new, but today, I had a bluescreen again (had that before).

The bluescreen occurs while starting up the machine from complete cold state (power supply was completly plugged off).
As I said, this happened before (twice). The machine would Bluescreen, and after a reset, same bluescreen again.
Then, I turned off the machine, turn it back on: Keyboard does not work. Reboot, keyboard ok.

This time, first, the bios hung giving me a black screen and a carret in the upper left corner. CTRL+ALT+DEL worked, the machine rebooted. Then however, the bluescreen occured. At least, this time it worked after one reset, the keyboard also worked. The bluescreen code is the following:

STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, 0xBACC3384, 0xBACC3080)

According to this article from microsoft, there are a few possible causes. But because it only happens sometimes, I guess there's something going wrong with the BIOS initialization.

I'm having 2GB ECC Kingston RAM, so I'm not guessing it's that. There are no ecc errors or whatsoever logged in the bios event log.

Anyone else having similar problems?

are you using automatic memory timings? i got some bluescreens after setting my kingston ram manually to 5-5-5-15. but spd (automatic) uses 5-5-5-16. now the bluescreens are gone.

note: the spd shown in the bios seems to be incorrect (at least for my kingston ecc modules).

cpu-z and other tools say 5-5-5-16. even the board sets the memory to this values when using automatic configuration. but it shows "spd 5-5-5-15". strange thing ...

I use manual settings, but have them set to 5-5-5-16, 1.84V (which is the same as automatic mode uses). SPD also shows 5-5-5-15 for me, but I always figured the bios is just wrong.

I have set it to manual, because the system is marginally overclocked. FSB 1066 instead of default 800 (E4300 processor).

Memory freq is set to 266 (ref) / 800, so memory runs at 800 (resp. 400mhz).

Please also note that i never had a bluescreen while the system was running. It always happened at system boot.
