D975XBX2 and SATA ATAPI CD/DVD RW

Anyone have any experience with using an SATA CD/DVD RW drive with their XBX2? A friend of mine just built a system using the 680i board and it works with that board but I have heard nothing about the XBX2, He did say that the SATA DVD drive burns a DVD disk in a fraction of the time. Just doing some research before I buy one.

i don't think the interface has much to do with burn speed? but, yea, i have a plextor 716sa hooked up to the xbx2.

I am running a Plextor 755sa and it is working just fine.

Which controller are you using? Intel Matrix or the Marvel ?

I'm using the Intel Matrix and I have the Marvel turned off at the moment.

I just built my son an identical system to mine and he bought a SATA DVD burner and I was worried it might not be supported.
