I have the D975XBX2 MB and it doesn't downlaod as fast as I think it should or could. My daughters computer is on the same router as mine and can download almost twice as fast. I swapped cables and even turned off Zone Alarm and it didn't change things. In the device manager/network cards/properties there are a lot of places where i might make some changes but don't know what to change or if that would help. Has anyone had this experience with this board?? On the back of the board where the ethernet cable plugs in both lights are green which means that it is connected and operating at the 100mps speed but if one of the lights were yellow it would connect at the 1000mps speed.... how can i get it to do that ???? The network driver version is 9.5.12.0 which i think is the latest one. Any suggestions ???
Otherwise this board is running great and very stable. Video work is so much faster and easier now.

your internet connection needs to be 1000mbps. i think only cable can run that fast.

you probably only have a 100mbps connection/100mbps router from your ISP

i know this because i am in the same boat, i wanted 1000mbps but im on DSL so i cant get it, especially because the router Bell gave me can only support 100mbps

Thanks. i am on a fast cable connection. My daughters computer is on the same router as mine and can download at 4770 Kbs while mine does 2440 Kbs. I swapped our cables and even turned off Zone Alarm and still it is the same so I think that it must be something with the settings for the internal LAN on this mobo ....

the 100/1000mbs doesn't matter as thats just the "limit" that that particular bus can handle. Right now, even the fastest home cable companies only have speeds *up to* 15mbs. So, even if you had a gigabit compatible modem and router, it wouldn't make a speed difference.

The only time that 1000mbs is used is in an enterprise, server environment.
