I've just had a problem with update. Just got this new system(975xbx2x) up & running. all is well. winXP loaded .drivers loaded. then flashed with 2674 & xp came up seeing new hardware? can't load any drivers or software to make it happy. device manager shows 2 pci slots not working.don't which two? my sound card & video card are working & don't have anything else plugged in!

The flash may have reset something? like the on board sound?

well if you followed proper flash procedure you set the motherboard to defaults before flashing, like IRQ said you may have disabled something in the bios, that you didn't redisable after the flash

thanks for the advice. I can't find any different settings.I left the onboard soundcard enabled(even with Soundblaster) because if it's disabled, then the front audio ports go with it..What happens if I try reflashing cause I may not have had DEFAULTS set at reflash? While your reading this..why can't I set Configure SATA as AHCI? Have ATA/SATA setting as (Native) Have two Seagate 320 SATA 2 300 drives on black SATA ports 0 & 1. It works on IDE setting, but doesn't make sense to me?

You have to install the matrix (RAID) drivers off the floppy during the OS install as you would if you were setting up for a raid array. I know, it's not documented, I had to find out the hard way as well.
/no thanks to Intel.
