Well, after a couple of BSODs (and never overclocked), my motherboard finally decided not boot up. These are the symtoms I ran into.
1. No live screen
2. Performed some power diagnostics and everything checked good.
3. Made sure RAM was matched ans seated correctly.
4. Checked to make sure CPU was installed correctly.
5. The fan on the heatsink was active at startup.
6. Received no computer startup beeps.
7. I was using default motherboard settings
8. Tried another CPU and had the same results.
9. Removed my D975XBX2 and reinstalled my D975XBX and everything started up without any problems--had to reactivate Vista x32 license key.

I think it's my motherboard. I sent an email to Intel to see if I can get a replacement.

I wasted a lot of time with this motherboard.

Sorry to hear about that gara56, had to read your post because I'm using XBX2 also. Trouble free so far (knock on wood). Bought the Intel mobo instead of 'faster' mobo's out there because I wanted Intel quality and stability.

Keep us posted on what you find out from Intel.

Just received a response from Intel on my motherboard. They now want me to perform another two tests:

1. Try booting the motherboard with only basic components connected (processor and power supply; no system memory or video card).

2. Test my system outside of the chassis. Please place your motherboard on a table, on a non-conductive material, and try booting it with only basic hardware attached. This is to ensure there are no grounding issues with the system case.

I guess that fact that the motherboard had power but nothing (not even the intel screen) came up wasn't enough. I thought I had already answered the first item.
