With dual channel support (only in games and a few applications):

Pentium M 2,13 is a little bit faster than a P4 3,7Ghz EE or a P4 3,8Ghz.

if you look at the super pi an P-4 3.6 is 1 sec slower than a P-M 2.13, in several of the other tests i would estimate that its roughly equivilent to a 3.4 P4

Granted they probably didn't use the fastest memory or the best timings on the P4 system but it's probably pretty close ( I don't have any experience with DDR2)

But you can see how well the Pentium M 770 is doing even with DDR333 single-channel (855)

holy crap! that spanks the fx-55 because it costs a few hundred less and outperforms it when overclocked. that's pretty awesome.

Well sorta, They used 3-3-3 timings @ DDR400 on the Athlon64 platform, which probably didn't help it too much :? Though I think they were trying to "even out the playing field" (P-M w/DDR333 vs A64 w/DDR400) . But even then as you can see it's still pretty competitive. And at a lot less power too. (A few pages back GamePC measures both idle and peak power consumption on all platforms)

I'm not surprised. I suppose it calculates multiple instructions per clock cycle? Unlike the 1 instruction per clock cycle of the P4.

That's how AMD has been able to create CPUs running just as fast as P4 at lower MHz.

Well a shorter pipeline at least. Pipeline stalls, branch mis-predictions, pipeline flushes, and cache misses are less costly on a shorter instruction pipeline. I'm no expert on the matter, but you can read up on pipelining it at http://www.arstechnica.com

I have just ordered a new custom case from mountain mods. pretty cool made the way I want it. A yonah cpu is going to perform well in this case .
Water cooled system with chiller from Raid computers.
Dual Raptors.
I am hoping that DDR2 2 2 2 5 will be here with the release of yonah.

Sata optical drives

But what I really want is Conroe in this case but I well play with yonah till Conroe . Than I well use Yonah as a media center for my wife.

P-M is great in OC and it can defeat FX-57 in some games...
