newbe -- would appreciate recommendations

Post by magpie583 »

The last computer I built was about 6 to 8 years ago. I am interested in building a new one that will last some time so would like a board that will upgrade easily. I have used and liked intel. I edit pictures, run dvd's, like to multi-task which slows down my computer a bunch. Would like a board that works well with music system and tv. Any suggestions? Have a Lian Li tower case so can fit a pretty big mobo.

Thanks in advance!

if you want a board that will upgrade for a while then you will have to wait for intels newest socket, which comes out in a few months (hopefully). the new procesor that goes with it, core i7, will last a long time and intel will probably stick with the socket for a while

I don't mind waiting to get a bit of longevity. Thanks.

Its going to give you more time to save up some money to get a decent core i7 system, so make good use of the wait!
