OCing a Q9450 on a IP35 Pro?

Post by Tim Burton »

How much can I OC this core? I understand that the Q9450 only has an 8X multiplier, how much can I generally push the FSB up? What voltage is standard for OCing and where generally is the ceiling?

I'm not looking for the upper extremes, but I would like to get a healthy OC out of the core.

I think 3.0-3.2Ghz is a good target to aim for, if you hit it fairly easy see if your mobo can go all the way to a 450Mhz FSB for a 3.6Ghz CPU.

The max vcore you would want to use is about 1.3v on air.

You will probably be held back more by the FSB tweaks than anything else.

Good luck!
