E5200 enough?

Post by hercules71185 »

My old computer fried. It's gone... RIP!!!!So here I am, building another PC. Since prices don't seem to fall on ebay due to used items I figured I'd just get a cheap PC until I build the monster again.

So here is what I got now
E5200 intel @3.33 (my CHEAP mobo [$40]) Can not up volts... :-(
EAH4870 Dark knight edition by Asus.
4GB DDR2 800
1TB hard drive and 320 for back up
Corsair 750w

Now my process of upgrade is going to be slow since this will handle a lot of stuff still
Step 1) Asus mobo with crossfire support
Step 2) another 4870.
Now after this is where I'd take a slight break IF the CPU could handle that without killing the video cards.

How badly do you think that the e5200@ about 3.9GHz would slow down the 4870s in CF?

Or do I really gotta splurge on the q9550 or q9650
