i removed the plug in and pins for the jumpers and ran the wires underside so i can use a water block on it.
i will eventually use dry ice once i get a p-4 heat spreader
the black goo is liquid electrical tape i just didnt want any arching across the water block. all i had was a big nasty brush.
well a little guide might give other people who may be hesitent to do this type of mod the confidence to do it. Some times all it takes is directions and people will go for it.

How have you managed to deal with the heatsink retention system. Doesn't the top of the PentiumM + CT-479 sit higher than a normal P4 in the socket, therefore making it difficult to fit any P4 socket 478 heatsink?

Although most VGA fan headers are 2 pin molex, they will fit into the 3 pin socket of a Zalman fanmate. As long as you line up the right pins (black to black and red to red) the housing for the 3 pin socket is made of plastic means there's enough give to allow you to safely squeeze in the 2 pin plug. The third un-attached wire is used for rpm readings only, so it's not important.

That's why all CT-479 comes with their own special heatsink with pre-adjusted height to match.
Most enthusiasts will be using bolted waterblock anyway so it doesn't really matter.
