cool. what if i have a fan sucking air away from the motherboard to help reduce heat. will that help?

i actually don't need to go any faster. it's really, really fast now. i was basically just asking if it was possible in theory. i'm sure when the new windows comes out, 4.0+ processors will be more useful. but it's not coming out until 2006 at least, and CPUs are slowly headed the the direction of 4ghz and beyond. maybe windows will have a service pack to address that problem.

oh...there is a slight amount of air in my watercooling setup. i tried bleeding the system for a long time and got pretty much all the air out, but i can still see tiny bubbles of air in some hoses. is this going to be a problem?

thanks again you guys.

air will degrade the effectiveness of the cooling, but not that much, unless we're talking quite a bit. About the only way to get all the air out is to not run the system at all for a few day, let the liquid settle and the air accumulate in one area.. you can remove the cooling system for your computer...turn it every which way to get the air in a spot where you can remove it, it likes to gather in places like the radiator, water blocks etc.

you can break 4.0 GHz on a system, but there really is no point to it. At 3.6 your memory is flying, your processor is about maxxed out, and your system is doing about all it can. If you pick up a 3.2 -3.4 you can hit 3.84-3.91 and run pretty stable. you see alot of guys with super O/C, but they aren't using it for anything, and most of the time it isn't stable and they can only achieve it for real short periods.

All the little air bubbles should work themselves out over time (a few days to a week). You can speed this process up a little by tipping the case in different directions while the cooling system is running to push the air pockets out. If you're real brave you can do it with the computer running.............. but I wouldn't recomend it......... 8)
