Is there a 137 GB limit on the D865 PERL IDE (PATA) HDD. I now have a 80 GB HD and would like to install a 250GB. My OS is XPSP2.

Re: D865PERL 137GB limit?
The Chip set has nothing to do with the 137GB limit, it's a BIOS and OS issue!
You can be certain this board's BIOS supports this! You might have to ebable "LBA" in the BIOS, but this is auto detected nowadays.
For OS support, all you need is SP1 for XP and since your copy of XP has SP2 intigrated, you'll have no problems!
SATA or PATA doesn't matter one bit, nor does the manufaturer of the drive, although I recommend either Seagate, WD or Hitatchi.
I hope this clears things up for you, and welcome to LRForums!

I recommend you begin your own thread rather than hijacking this one.
Your post will get more attention that way.
