@Nein: And you're basing this on software voltage rail readings? hahahaha.

No offence, but they're really inaccurate so you shouldn't really make assumptions off of them.

Amazingly enough, there're people like me who can use software voltage rail readings, able put them to better use than most "experts" with 1 1/2 digit accuracy DVMs, even against the "experts" with fancy Scopes.

You obviously can't. Just because you can't does not mean neither could others .

Well I've now tried it with a 500W psu and Higher quality ram but no luck oh well, 2.66 to 3.6 isn't that bad is it? As you can see from my super pi results its performance has increased dramatically.

Thanks for all the help guys you all deserve a :drinkers:

Well after getting the other CPU cooler i bought, (Asus Star ice) it was extremely hard to install but worth it. While the CPU was unclocked it was averaging temps of about 52 Degrees while running Everest System Stability test. While clocked to 3.6 and running the same test i was getting temps of about 59 Degrees was the max.

I have come to the conclusion that the Asus Star Ice cooler is way better then the Thermal Take Golden Orb 2, i also noticed that the Star ice cooler is alot louder then the Gold Orb 2, but i dont mind.

What PSU are you using and what is the system configuration? If you posted it before sorry I did not see it?

There're 500W PSUs, and then there're 500W PSUs...

Assuming this is the 400W Super Flower PSU you're using, your 400W PSU is a bottom low end 350W PSU for me.

I'd not looked up the 500W PSU you mentioned above, is it a real 500W PSU?

With out knowing the full system configuration its just a guess, but from what you have posted I would suggest trying a Bigger/Better PSU, and if you do a search for PSU configurator in google there are several there, just remember to add the % of over clock and about 20-30% more is a good base line.

Sounds like your hitting the max the board can do.

I think the PCI bus is out of spec???

You said your using clockgen? doe it show what speed the PCI bus is running? Everest can also show this in the "overclock" section

Does this new board not have options in the BIOS to do overclocking properly?

Ive had a quick look earlier im pretty sure it doesnt, but when i googled it, i got some results that were talking about setting the clock forward 5 minutes or somthing.

As you can see here,
http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherbo ... ht=DQ965GF

jcbzhnsr1
"go into the bios and set the system time 5 minutes ahead, go slow and steady... Sorry, bud, it's doable, but very difficult on Intel boards..."

Is he talking about the actual system "clock" (as in time?)

By the looks of it he's joking. ^^
Got to admit that its funny.

But it looks like you were right in that it doesn't have any overclocking options in the BIOS.

See if you can find the PLL chip that generates the clock on your motherboard and search for overclocking programs with that number.
