Just got an e-mail from Intel that said:
Upgrade Performance, Not Price
Experience quad-core performance for less. Beginning July 22, 2007, Intel is reducing prices on select quad-core boxed processors sold through Intel® Authorized Distributors. In addition, on July 29, 2007, Intel will be reducing prices on select quad-core server skus.

Watch your email for more details….. Coming Soon!

Sweet, I knew I was stockpiling all this hardware for something!!

I have all this RAM and this new board, but I'm still stuck with a mx OC of 497FSB (with 4x 1GB)
A Quad should fill the void nicely 8)

This has been floating around for some time now, it's about time Intel confirmed the stories............... I've already got money set aside for a Quad core if I decide to go that route............... 8)

I thought it would be cheaper...($266). Is there another price cut on the Q6600 coming in August?

The $266 price was OEM in 1000 unit trays if you read the fine print. .................... The retail price will sooner of later drop to that point soon, they always do. Right now their is just a mad rush for the things and E-Tailers are taking advantage of the rush while they can. If you want one and can wait, do so, the prices will settle after excitement dies down a little.

Mwave is where my E6750 is coming from, when I ordered it, the EGG didn't even have them listed on their site yet. .................. 8) The EGG is sucking hind tit this time around IMHO.

Good pick IMHO, maybe I'll pickup a Quad with the next generation when they run a bit cooler and there is more of use for Quads.........

There's already reports of people getting 3600mhz out of the Q6600s with G0 stepping.

Seen that, been following it from the begining............. There are a bunch, and I mean bunch on the [H] that are complaining about heat issues out of the things. Seems like some people are telling stories about their results and or temps that they are getting. Like I said before, I have no real use for the Quads at this time, if I had, I would have ordered one this time around with it being a B'Day present and all.
