I have 2 computers both with Intel processors,
One has an Intel Core2 Quad Q6700 8mb 1.2Cache 1066 MHZ FSB
The other is a Dual Core Duo E6700 4mb L2 cache1066 MHZ FSB
Both processors are installed on the same type of Motherboard
Same RAM
When I render videos the E6700 out performes the Quad core by almost a third of the time taken.
Can you tell me why?
I thought the Quad core processor was suposed to out perform the core 2
Thanks
pete
Video rendering comparison
Re: Video rendering comparison
Depends on the program.
It has to actually be using the cores in order to run faster. Go to Task Manager in windows and see if the cpu usage is 100% for the program you are using, if not, then it isnt using all of the cores available.
