Hi.
Now, i went out and bought a cheap setup with a S5000XVN Intel server board, a Xeon 5110 and 4 Gb Fully Buffered DDR2-ram.
I saw the review you had on the site with this board, and 2 5365's on it. But before i go out and buys a CPU or 2 and spend a lot of money on them, i would like to know, what is really the advatages, and disadvantages of a Xeon vs a normal C2D/Quad-core Intel ? What is it exactly they can do, that the normal CPU's can't ?
In what areas is it that the Xeon's come to their prime, and makes them worth the money ?

Some don't use the same socket and some are designed for multi processor motherboards. They are tuned slightly differently but nothing you will really notice in desktop use. If I'm nmot mistaken they are rated to run at higher temperatures since it can get quite hot in a blade, other than that they are pretty much the same.

Dozer,
I've got a pair right now up for-Sale in the LR trading section of the forums.
Take a look here if these Xeons will work for you. The price is very attractive and includes free shipping to the continuous 48 lower states.

martini161 --> Yes, i kinda figures that one out my-self (hence my questions)
stev --> Sry, but can't use them, and i'm not from the states

My board is LGA771, not 604Mga. But very attractive though
