overclocking blues

The only way i have been able to stabilize my q6600 at 3.2ghz is to run at over 1.45 volts. Is that to high? My water loop is still staying plenty cool 41-42 degrees under full load. Anyone have any suggestions.

I have read that thread several times. Yes it is very useful and infomative . Though my voltages are about .2 over what he is running. My temps are still nice and low though. should i be concerned with the higher voltages as long as my temps don't get to high.

Intel shows the operating voltage from .85 - 1.5V on the E/Q6600s. I had my E running at 1.55 in BIOS for over a year and had no problems with it. After reading that guide a couple more times, I'm trying to get my voltage down a little, but if I can't it will be back at 1.55 to maintain my 3.375GHz overclock.
Will I tell you it's safe to run at higher voltages, No. Can I say that, even though i've ran that way for a year without frying my chip, you could do the same, No. As stated in nearly every overclocking article/guide/how to I've seen... no 2 processors are the same, and shouldn't be expected to perform the same as any other processor.

it just depends on how your cooling handles it. if it is still nice and cool then it should be fine

Thats fine with those temps and you're still within the safe guidelines. There aren't really any suggestions as every chip is different. Some people get lucky with lots of OC headroom while others don't fare quite as well. The chip is what it is.

well small fft's ran for 24+hours without errors. Did a reboot set it to blend and it blew up in 2 mins 38 secs. i think that would indicate that my mem cant handle the overclock. Am I wrong?

what timings and voltage are the ram running at?

woops i put this in the wrong thread. But anyways the timings are at 5,5,5,15 bios voltage is 2.02 everest reads the voltage at 2.1

The vcore seems a litte high to me, and surprisingly, your cpu temperatures are way to low comparing to that high voltage.
What is your CPU stepping?
I have Q6600 G0 stepping that runs @ 3.6GHz (stable) with vcore set in BIOS 1.3625v (1.35v in windows). Full loaded temp ~ 49*C (watercooling- Apogee GT, DD block for NB, D5 pump and .... copper tubes -- on P5B-Dlx board)

its G0 stepping. running at 3.2 stable (at least under small fft's) 1.4 vcore @ 44c. the mem is running at 858 mhz

Failing the "Blend Test" in Orthos / Prime normally means there's a problem with the RAM & or the chipset.
What voltages are you giving the RAM and chipset?
You coul try to increase those by a tad. Also run Memtest86+ for a while.
That board can be very picky when it comes to RAM and normally requires a bit ot tweaking before you can get things stable.

my vdimm was at 2.02 giving me a 2.1 voltage in everest. my nb voltage was at 1.45 i bumped it to 1.49 still blew up at 2 mins. im gonna try uping my vdimm a notch or 2 and see what happens. As for my temps ive got a trip 120 rad for the cpu, plus my comp is in a cool basement.
