What processor is this?

Post by Bit_Cloud »

Does anyone know what kind of processor this is?
It came from a busted up Dell Laptop, don't know what year, or anything, since i got it for free.

Where it fit into the computer (laptop):

The processor side 1:

The processor side 2:

The processor side 1 again:

The text on the top of side 2:

The bottom:
INTEL (M) (C) '01

Sorry about poor quality. I hope you can still figure it out, if not I'll try to draw/photoshop a good pic.

Thanks in advance!

That is a Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M Processor, which is a very common notebook cpu before the Centrino's came out.

You can tell everything about the processor you need to know just by the sSpec Number, which is the 5 digit code at the end of the top line of the cpu. The processor that you have is a 1.6GHz cpu that runs at 1.3Volts.

Processor Frequency: 1.60 GHz
Package Type: 478 pin PPGA FC-PGA2
Bus Speed: 400 MHz
Manufacturing Technology: 0.13 micron
L2 Cache Size: 512 KB
Multiplier: 16

Not a bad processor to get for free at all! The question is -- Does it work?

Thanks! I don't know if it works, because the computer was all busted up, and I don't have a laptop to try it out in. I'll just sell it on eBay, and hope someone buys it. It's in perfect condition, so it should work, but I'll make no guarantees. But thanks again for the quick reply.
