question about q9550

hi every one! I purchased a new computer with q9550 2.83GHz, but when I run CPU-Z or Everest so it read only 1999.8MHz instead, like the pics below
So I wonder if it is a normal mode...

That might just be the processor slowing down because it is not needed. You can disable the power saving features in the bios that should get your cpu to run at 2.83ghz all the time

this happened to me too(on both rigs..still does on older one)..and I have C1E and SpeedStep disabled...Far as I knew those were the only 2 things that could do that in the Bios...is it a setting in Vista?

In you can see it go up in CPU-Z. Leave it open and run a program that uses some CPU power and watch it go up.

seen that but I know that id like to try to not have it do that

its not a big thing for me..just an annoyance
