I have decided to buy a new PC for gaming purpose. I hope my PC will run games like Crysis, FarCry 2 smoothly. It would be really great if my PC can also run games that will be released 3 or 4 years from now. My budget is $900 to $950 totally.
The only part which I have decided is the graphic card. I have decided to go with the Radeon HD 4850 512 MB card. And I have also bought it.
The reason why I choose it was, in future if I need some boost to my games, then, I can upgrade it with another 4850 in Crossfire. I read that two 4850s in crossfire is better than one 4870.
As for the CPU, I have decided to go with a Intel Core 2 Quad processor (the i7 is not within my budget). The problem is, I am confused about which of the following to choose.
1. Q9650 12MB L2 3 GHz 1333 MHz
2. Q9550 12MB L2 2.83 GHz 1333 MHz
3. Q9450 12MB L2 2.66 GHz 1333 MHz
4. Q9400 6MB L2 2.66 GHz 1333 MHz
5. Q9300 6MB L2 2.50 GHz 1333 MHz
6. Q8300 4MB L2 2.50 GHz 1333 MHz
7. Q8200S 4MB L2 2.33 GHz 1333 MHz
8. Q8200 4MB L2 2.33 GHz 1333 MHz
I have left out Q9500S and Q9400S since their price too didn't fit my budget.
It would be very helpful if u can provide benchmarks charts comparing these processors.
Any graph comparing the performance of these CPUs for different games will also help me..
If not benchmarks, then your recommendations can also help me out guys. Please note that I have already bought a Radeon 4850.
Will this card fit in all the above CPUs or are they any specific CPUs only.
Also can you guys tell me what motherboard to buy for the CPU you recommend. Any good Crossfire enabled motherboard recommendations?..
