which processor core2 duo or i5?

which processor core2 duo or i5?

Hi I have 2 laptop deals with same price but different processors. I dont know what to descide now.

Core2Duo T9600 2.8GHz or i5-540M processor 2.53GHz with turbo boost up to 3.06 GHz. Obviously i5 processor is superior to core 2 duo. But the Ghz numbers I couldnt desicde. Please explain.

The i5 is massively superior to the Core2 Duo. I would probably say that the i5 is the way to go. You can of course look for comparative benchmarks :)

i5 ftw, for the desktop they're the best overclockers since single core chips too 8)

Yeah, I'm about to pull the trigger on an i5-540...more bang for the buck.
