Post by marjan_2000 » Fri Mar 19, 2010 6:35 am

Can you please help me with the choice for buying Intel processor? I can't choose between Intel Core2 Duo Processor P7570(2.26 GHz 3 MB L2 cache 1066 MHz FSB) and Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB)? I saw that lunch date for the first one was on 03.2009 and for the secon one 09.2008... Can you explain me whats the differecnce and why P7570 i launched and even better than the P8700??? thank you.

Other than clock frequency they look nearly the same... Don't think you can go wrong with either. The P8700 looks to be faster since it is clocked higher.

I personally own the Intel P8700 in my HP DV4 notebook. I used it in this review - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1169/6/

All those charts have Intel P8700 performance results.

You could buy the cheaper 7570 and overclock it if you have a decent after market cooler. If you weren't going to overclock, I would buy the 8700 and purchase an aftermarket CPU heatsink that fits your motherboard and cpu socket.
