was getting tired of the 4.1 GHz I was using on my 970 CPU, so yesterday I decided to start cranking things up. here is my newest result of my overclocking endeavor. I am using a single 6970 video card currently (for a specific reason).

Re: Decided I
very nice... how are temps and what was the benchmark score before?
Re: Decided I
is it stable? did you prime it?

Re: Decided I
I lynxed it and it is stable. as far as temps not sure haven't looked into that just yet. i did not save any of my previous vantage runs with a single card i do have some with crossfire enabled
Core i7 970 @ 4.1 GHz
Overall 36819
GPU 36475
CPU 37891
Core i7 970 @ 4.45 Ghz
Overall 39495
GPU 39048
CPU 40898
I was not expecting much of a major point increase. unfortunately I cannot go to a 1000/1500 MHz overclock with both cards while in crossfire mode. (stupid PowerPlay) the only way around that little issue is to bios tweak both of the cards clock speeds to a higher frequency.

Re: Decided I
I been playing with my computer a bit more, and trying different settings dealing mostly with the memory. I cannot use a 1850 MHz on the memory with 9-9-9-24,The memory I am using is only rated @ 1333 with 7-7-7-20 timings and I had it stable to 1780 with 8-8-8-24 timings. Since my BCLK and memory divider sits in between these two frequencies (I am at 185 Base clock and I have to use a 4(8) memory divider). I was using a 8-8-8-19 timings on my memory, so I tightened the memory to 7-7-7-20 with a 1480 MHz frequency on the memory.
result of that little mess. It was taking me about 4.2 seconds to complete wPrime to 32 million units with a 1720 Mhz on the memory with a 4.1 GHz overclock on the CPU
