Intel Pentium Processor 965 Overclocking Results

Post by Apoptosis »

I started overclocking the Intel Penitum Processor 965 Extreme Edition the other night and did get a bit farther than the previous 955 that I overclocked a few months ago. From the factory the 965 runs at 14 x 266 for a final clock frequenct of 3.73GHz.

With all default voltages I was able to hit 4.4GHz at 1.3Vcore...

Image

I then increased the Vcore to 1.4V and was able to hit 4.7GHz at an impressive 1334MHz FSB.

Image

I then lowered the FSB and raised the multiplier to 15 and was able to get 4.8GHz out of the processor.

Not bad and I think it still might have some extra room left in it.

Damn impressive OC.
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
