Dual-core crashing/stuttering/model corruptions

So I was told MS has a hot-fix for dual core processors but the only work around ive found so far is this :

If using Windows XP (32-bit) and a true Dual- or Multi- core processor, please follow the steps listed in this Microsoft knowledgebase article which details the issue and steps required to resolve the issue. A very brief overview of that knowledgebase article's resolution steps: 1) install a hotfix program which is obtained from Microsoft's technical support contact system. 2) input a registry entry into the registry editor. 3) install any additional processor patches from the manufacturer of the processor(s).

Im wondering if anyone has that hot fix and could send it to me (or a link)? I dont feel like going thru MS customer service :/

I have not needed to use the fix for my P-D 830. Maybe you could list your hardware and OS being used to see if maybe we can see if the Hotfix is really necessary?

Do you have the latest bios and drivers for the board installed?
