E6600 B1 vs E6700 B1 max 32M

Post by eva2000 »

I'm testing one of my new E6700 B1s on Asus P5W DH 0801 bios and thought i'd take a short cut and jump straight to aiming for 4Ghz 32M stable at least. Seems this E6700 B1 runs 6-8C hotter than my E6600 B1 at idle and load and is slightly behind my E6600 B1 in terms of max 32M stable.

E6600 B1 max 32M stable
@4023mhz at 1.6625v bios set (1.62-1.64v)
@4043mhz at 1.675v bios set (1.64-1.65v)

@4004mhz at 1.65v bios set

but with E6700 at 1.6625v and 1.675v vcore seem less stable probably due to 8+ C higher temps at idle and load compared to my E6600. 48C idle (E6700) vs 40-41C idle (E6600).

Guess for E6700 i'll need to freeze it 8)
