hum... We've already written 4 articles and talked about it, so I'd hope we have it. The really huge review sites (anandtech/Toms) get processors over 6 months in advance... The medium size sites like LR usually get 2-3 months and the then the rest get them usually 14 days in advance.

You have to be careful with reviews of systems made from parts that are far out from the release date. They're sometimes not indicative of what off-the-shelf product will do. That's the problem with engineering samples. (Remember back to the Bad Axe overheating problem that was "fixed" just before the board was finally released? Think anyone got a real review of what the P955EE would honestly do?)

The system I'm working with, although unfortunately a Bad Axe platform, is a retail item. If someone buys the system configured the same as the one I'm reviewing (and they can) they'll get what I tell them is there to be had. That's the benefit to your readership of waiting, of not necessarily being first or second or even 14th --if it involves pre-release items.

Every review you will see on Intel Quad-Core on launch day will be on pre-release hardware...new BIOS's and boards have been made available since the press samples were sent out. If you read my previews they were all done on rev 304 bad axe 2 boards and they motherboards the sent the press were rev 303 boards with an older bios for all the testing.
