Hi-
Currently I have a motherboard with a Pentium D dual core installed. If I decided to upgrade my processor to a core 2 in the future, how would I know if the motherboard is compatible?
Thanks in advance.
Core 2 Duo Compatible?

Are you sure about that? I'm curious about the same thing, as I have the Dell E510 (which is the same as the 5150). Check out this info on the 945G Chipset from Intel's website:dicecca112 wrote:chipset is 945G it does not support C2D. Sorry

The 5150 was released before the VRM resolution change that allows for Core 2 Duo. The board contains VRM 10, VRM 11 is needed, thus won't support Core 2 Duo. Trust me I did a system upgrade for a customer on the same exact system. He told me even though I pointed out the above that he could get it to work. It didn't.
