PhysX by AGEIA

Post by Merlin »

I was looking around at NVidia's site and saw a press release that said they were buying AGEIA which has a PhysX engine....don't know what it is but it seems to be a supliment to a GPU that aids in accurate , in terms of the laws of physics, rendering of object interaction and other cool stuff that is supposed to be really revelutionary for gaming. Any of you know anything about it or went we might see an NVidia card witht he PhysX added into it??

NVIDIA actually sent out two press releases on it..

1st - http://forums.legitreviews.com/about14012.html
2nd - http://forums.legitreviews.com/about14212.html

Looks like it was bound to happen... I haven't touched the Ageia Physics card since I've reviewed it. Sat in the closet for over a year now right next to two KillerNIC cards.

I still hear rumors that NVIDIA wants to buy AMD, but I don't see that happening since it would pretty much be a monopoly for video cards.

if you ask me those killer nics and the phsx cards are just a waste of a pci slot. especially the killer nics. i remember they claimed that they were gigiabit nics. LOL how can they be gigabit if the pci bus cant even transfer that fast. but if there not doing anything id be happy to take them of your hands apop

wouldnt they HAVE to sell ATI out of AMD(if, of course they want AMD), because monopolies are illegal?

Man, I didn't even realise that they were still just 10/100.

I'm not sure I'd even want one if they were given away in a competition (using wifi rather than a wired network has a slight thing to do with that) :P
