PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Feb. 21, 2008 PNY Technologies(R), Inc. today announced immediate availability of the Verto(TM) GeForce(R) 9600 GT 512MB graphics card. Based on the NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) 9 Series of GPUs, this card is designed to support Microsoft Windows Vista(TM) Premium as well as Microsoft(R) DirectX(R) 9 (DX9) and DirectX 10 (DX10) for current and next-generation PC gaming.

open GL 2.1 :shock: we've been on GL 2.0 for like 3 generations, do all 9 series cards have this?

OpenGL 2.1 was released on August 2, 2006 and isn't a new feature specific to the GeForce 9 series.. the GeForce 8 series supports it too.

For example the GeForce 8500 and GeForce 8600 have OpenGL 2.1 - http://sg.nvidia.com/object/geforce_860 ... cs_sg.html

ohh, sorry, ive only been looking on the ATI side of things, theyre still on 2.0 :( but hey, they have shader model 4.1 :)

yeah, and i guess from what i hear, Nvidia doesnt want to fool with 10.1, just go straight to 11
