I have a a Nikon Coolpix S1, and at times it takes forever to take a picture, and at times the picture blurs even when I'm not moving the camera. Could it be that I have a relatively slow SD card?
Here are the blistering Benchmark speeds

the blurring doesn't have anything to do with the SD card, but the slow recording and delay between the shots could be.
When I tested CF cards with my camera - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/620/1/ I did notice some difference between memory cards. Going from a 100x to a 266x memory card resulted in a 25% faster write complete time for my particular camera. At the same time most cameras have some memory buffer built-in, so it doesn't matter unless you are taking rapid shots. Older and lower end cameras might not have a frame buffer and the memory card is then really important. Are you looking for an SD card?
yeah I am in the market for a new one, before I leave for my trip near the end of march. I have the same one that Bubba Reviewed in the link above, the micro one. It was weird I was trying to take pictures of the lunar eclipse and no matter what I did, the shot would not stay steady, kept blurring
believe me a really good camera is one of the first things I by once I graduate and land that nice programmers job, but for now I'd like the camera not to annoy me enough that I throw it out the window
says 150x, my current card was like 20X rated. Even if this card lives up to half its billing and is 75x, it'll still be 3.75X faster. So it'll work. And its double the size.
A faster card makes a HUGE difference! Also lighting! I got a 150X card I believe the other year when I went to that Kansas Nascar race and it took FAST pictures out in the daylight! For a 15 second or so pitstop I think it took over 30 shots just holding the button down.
I would buy the fastest rated card you can find!
Now the camera does come into play, but I have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FC7 and it worked great on that!
In comparison with the normal card I might have been able to take 3 pictures in a row before the card writing speed slowed it down too much and it had to wait to take another picture!

In the dark my camera is a lot slower, but in bright light it whoops arse.
