Stereo or surround system? I havent had a stereo since the 90's :)

price point?

if you are an audiophile, then you wont care about crappy ipod music running through it, you would just want cd quality or higher..??

Price point might be handy, you're going to get real different recommendations for $2000 compared to $20,000. ;)

I'm partial to Klipsch, Boston Acoustics, JBL, B&W, Wilson, to name a few.

You have to find a store near you. As far as buying online I don't think so. They keep their prices fixed for the most part. I know you can talk down price at the dealer, I did. Like I said I am very happy. I suggest you go and have a listen for yourself.

Money is no object, yet you will only pay 200-300 for speakers :? Speakers MAKE the system. You can have a $20,000 receiver, but with $300 speakers, it will sound like a shelf stereo system.

Some of Denons higher end stuff is good too.

yeah but speakers are always upgradeable. if it wasnt ruined, my old reciver (which was an extremely nice one, .01 thd, but it was better than that, thats just as low as the machine to measure that stuff goes) could still be pumping out great sound on a good set of speakers. speaker technology changes, but recivers really dont.
