DVD-R Burning Issues

Post by Alathald »

I'm trying to burn a copy of Ubuntu Studios to install but for some reason, it keeps throwing errors. I've tried two types of media (maxell and verbatim) and messed around with some of the settings in ImgBurn and it hasn't worked.

My drive is a Samsung and shows up as TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183L. I was going to try new firmware on it but I can't find any :(

Anyway, don't know if it'll help but here's the log file from ImgBurn after a failed burn in Test Mode:

either bad cable, bad disk, bad image, or bad burner. First three are easy to test, assuming you have an extra cable, disk, and can redownload the image

I've tried multiple disks (and brands) and the MD5 checksum matches so the image is good. The drive reads fine so I wouldn't think it's the cable but I'll give it a try with a different cable. Hopefully the burner isn't bad >_<

It was the cable, I think it got pulled to tight when I was running it around my case, I was ready to throw it through a window Image

Odd that it still read fine though, thanks for the help!
