Thats the problem - he is too limited in what to buy, hence my suggestion of the big boy There are a TON of PS that would do him good under the 1000W range, but not on his list.

I stick by the 1200W till I die, still think the benefit down the road when you upgrade or go to a quad sli ( ) setup will pay for the difference.

The final verdict is that I painfully enough could find a vendor selling the Thermaltake ToughPower of 850 Watts and decided to go with that one. I know that 750 Watts is enough, but I feel more secure with 850 Watts since I have more room for upgrading, and more room to support the PSU's aging, since I don't plan to upgrade my PSU in less than 2 years.

The 850 Watts PSU is much more cheap than the 1200 Watts PSU. The later is just too much of an overkill, even for what I plan to upgrade in the future. So I can safely save some bucks for future upgrades.

Oh yea, 850-1000 is very nice for what you need, but you didnt say you could buy the 850 ;)

I'm doubting on this because in that link, it explicitly describes SLI and Dual Core CPU ready. In other PSU's, for example the Thermaltake Toughpower W0172RU, it is described as
Supports Dual Core CPU / Quad Core CPU / Nvidia SLI & Quad SLI and all Multi-Core GPU technologies.

So I don't Know if the W0117RU is compatible with a Q6600 because its description does not mention it.

Funny the Thermaltake site has the Thermaltake Toughpower W0172RU PSU listed for Quad-SLI.... NVIDIA has only listed it for a single 9800 GX2 - http://forums.legitreviews.com/about14756.html
