Computer will not turn on

I turned my computer on and it is not coming up. the on/off switch flashes and there are lights on the back as well. the fan is virtually quiet so i am not sure if its coming on or not. the monitor comes on but the computer is taking a nap so too speak

any suggestions?

Open the case and see if the fans are actually moving when you press the front case power button.

Does the computer normally beep when you turn it on? Does it do this now?

Can you list the spec of your computer please.

If the fans do not turn on when you are pressing the case button to turn it on, turn off and unplug the PC, then take out the battery on the motherboard for about 10 seconds. Put it back in, and try plugging in and turning on your PC again.

I pulled the battery, waited, replaced it and it works fine now - so i assume i will be replacing the battery in about 20 minutes
