Help-road trip from Cali to Colorado

Hey guys. My buddies and i are going on a "brewery" road trip at the and of march. I figure there are plenty of people here from different places that would know of good points of interest in places than some book written by some lame guy...

Our rough trip is as follows:

Start: San Francisco Area of california
drive to salt lake city
~2 days in salt lake city
drive to colorado
~2/3 days in denver area Colorado
drive to phoenix
~2 days in Phoenix
~2 days in Vegas
Back home....

The theme of the trip is breweries. we have several planned out (New Belgium in Fort Collins for one), but also are keeping the trip "open" so that if we are having a great time in a certain place we can spend an extra day there of someothing. If any of you know of great places to visit in those areas, please let me know!!

sounds like fun, hope you dont miss Russian river Brewery, and its too bad you are not hitting San Diego, most of the top rated beers in CA come from here and some of the top in the world.

Here are a couple pictures.

This is in South Lake Tahoe on Friday morning - pretty much the start of the trip (I'm the one in red Marlboro Hat, no i don't smoke, just think the hat is ridiculous)


This is me at the peak of our trip. the catalyst for the trip was to go to New Belgium Brewery (because i love fat tire). once we thought to go on the trip, we just turned it into a brewery road trip.



This one is inside the coors factory. THAT PLACE IS INSANELY HUGE!!!



It was a great trip. We saw some great sites. Ended up going to 19 different breweries. there was a great one in Salt Lake City, Utah called Squatters. The only problem with utah is the weird alcohol laws. local beer on tap can only be under 4% alcohol. to get into a bar you have to be a member (which consists of simply paying some money) - at each bar.

New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins was great. great people, great brewery, great beer. Fort Collins as a town as a blast. we stayed there 3 nights. Another great brewery was in Denver called Breckenridge. that had great beer. The only place that i actually purchased the beer in bottles to bring home with me.

As regards to Russian River Brewey, that is in Downtown Santa Rosa, CA - I work 3 blocks from there and have been known to have a few pints there after work. We have several great brewerys within 20 minutes of where i live - Lagunitas, Moylans, Russian River, 3rd St. ale works, and more.
