AV Auditing - Help Me Choose!

Post by Sovereign »

I am not trying to stir up a flamefest. I merely want to find an effective, lightweight antivirus program to provide some minimal level of protection for my computers (I don't need anything else, not a firewall, anti-spyware or any of those "combo" suites). The only price I'll accept right now is free, but if there is a product out there worth buying feel free to mention it.

I currently run AVG Free Edition 8.0 on both rigs in my sig. The desktop runs Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 and the laptop has Vista Business SP1 x86.

AVG or Avast is really what everyone will recommend in the free sections, and they are good enough to warrant not having to pay.

If you want something a bit better then Kapersky is good.
