OCD to the overdrive

Post by DMB2000uk »

OK, so I'm not actually OCD, but I am very obsessive compulsive by nature in some of the things I do.

So I had too much spare time and ended up stripping down and rebuilding (very neatly) my brothers and parents computers. I didn't think to get before and after shots, but here is the results of my OC tidying (click to enlarge):

I should start a cable tidying business or something

Some call it OCD, some call it anal retentive... whatever. I spent about 2 hours this morning completely rewiring a buddies machine, only to find out that the motherboard was bad. Oh well, the cable management will look freakin' MONEY when he gets that new mobo.

Looks good, you crazy, crazy person...I might get around to cleaning up the inside of my case a bit more but wasting time on (non enthusiast) relative's cases, that's just, well, that's just craziness! (unless their case has a window  )

I too am an 'I'm-OCD-but-not-really-OCD' type of person, so I applaud your work. =D> Very nice job with the ide cable on the first shot! Those nasty 'lasagna noodles' have always frustrated me, I'll definitely try your folding method next time I encounter one.

Yeah, if you mean you taught me via the wonders in this post. Then dream on :finga:

Both of these cases don't have windows >_<

I have done them both though as I changed out a part (new mobo + CPU on the first) and new heatsink on the second and like i said, had time on my hands/OCD took over :P

The job you did on that ide cable is very nice, the rest not so special IMO, doing this for relatives machines probably means you have WAYYY too much time on your hands, as only an enthusiast or someone with a window into their case would really need to worry about it at all.

Nice job overall though!

I was in the cases swapping out parts anyway, so I figured I would tidy them up while i was there. Without modding the cases, that is the best it's going to get.
