I'm training to install Win2k on my Vostro 1710 laptop. I have imported sata drivers to Win2k installation by nlite. I have tried to import those drivers like text and system doesn't find certain files (Iastore.sys)so I tried to pot those drivers like PNP and I'm getting this options to specify my system "Standard PC" "standard pc with c-step i486" "SGI mp" "other"
non of them seems be correct. I can't disable sata in bios.

Re: Win 2k instalation on dell vostro sata disk
Sound like you have the wrong driver files slipstreamed
Are you sure you have the driver for your version of the chip set?
Intel have a few different versions of chips, ICH7, ICH8, ICH9 etc.
Welcome to LR Forums btw

Just take the drivers from your dell drivers cd. If not go to dell.com and plug in your laptop model and name. Download all the drivers you'll need. Extract the drivers from there installers, and re-slipstream them in. Make sure you have the ACPI driver as well.
