I *Heart* My Canon 40D

Post by DMB2000uk »

So I think I've finally cracked this SLR camera thing, check out this picture (one of a set, but just thought I'd show you a sample of the quality I'm getting):

(click to original size the image [Warning 10MP Original])

This has been unedited (except to save it from RAW to JPEG), and shot handheld with nothing more than ambient light on a not that bright day. If you check out the EXIF data you can see the settings I used. I have to point out though that this is at ISO 1600. I love this camera ^_^

I knew you would be happy going with the Canon 40D. :) Great choice of lens as well. I bet you are saving up for another lens.

Outside? Hmm, I think I vaguely remember that place.

Trouble is, I don't know what to take beautiful pictures of (except hardware). And going places with my camera makes me feel like a tourist :P

Take pictures of buildings, or nature, or water, or *insert thing here*

That is the great thing about photography.

the great thing about photography is you can take a picture of any random crap, put it through some seriously f*cked up filter in photo shop, and BAM youve got modern art  now go sell it at some art auction for a starting bid of 1mil :finga:

you can do better than that with your new canon!

martini161 I wish it was that easy. I have adobe photoshop cs3. Practice makes perfect. Big learning curve. Not something that comes easy. I wish it was.

Yeah, the laptop silver is kind of a weird sparkly of greys.

If you look at the black on the USB stick (or the shadow underneath it) you can get a feel for the actual noise. But remember that this is at ISO1600 so it's not going to be perfect :P
