Drivers

Post by Merlin »

My windows XP shows an update is available and it has for some time. That update is new Nvidia drivers but when I update I get no sound and the control panel shows no hardware attached. I revert back to before the update and it works fine. It has been this way for a year but since it has been so long I wanted to figure out the problem before the drivers become a stability problem for being so outdated. I use the onboard sound.

Your board has an NVidia chipset and NVidia's Soundstorm sound driver.
Go to the NVidia site, and download the latest drivers for youre hardware, then make sure you do that for the rest of your components as well. If you have any trouble or need any help, make sure you come back and ask us
