Re: LCD tvs
I have the sony xbr6 32inch for the bedroom. Looks good in hdtv, in regular mode, my sony xbr32 inch crt looks much better. Just one thing I would like to add. If you do not plan on adding speakers to the tv, then the sony is very good. I really like the sound.
Re: LCD tvs
Have you been to a shop to see them all in person? If the shop will let you, ask for the remotes so that you can set the tv's colour and contrast up properly.
If you can't see any significant difference between them, then just google to see if there are any a) reviews of the tv's, and b) and negative feedback from current owners.

Re: LCD tvs
yeah i think they're all the same, but i choose sony of course, because its the brand my parents buy ever since..hehe..but if you want quality but reasonably priced tvs, maybe you can go with LG..=)
Re: LCD tvs
Different brands have different TV quality. You could be comparing a brand new Sony XBR series to an older Sony LCD TV series. You have to look in person.

Re: LCD tvs
I was mostly looking for feedback from someone who may own one of these names. I know that you can't go wrong with a Sony
but they are also 2-5% higher inprice than a comparable series LG or Samsung. I was reading in a forum that focuses on TVs and some people said they have had to return several LGs to get one good unit. My research tells me that Samsung and Sony are the leaders in LCD with LG falling slightly behind. I have looked at all of them in various stores and at the 40-42" and $1000-$1300 range it seems the LG has a few more features than Samsung and Sony for a little less money but I don't have to same confidence in LG as I do in the other two. I also saw a 37" Viewsonic 720P at office depot for $650!! for that price I could settle fro less than what I want for a few years...I am replacing a 32" Trinitron so all these will look great.
