Anyone build a mini-itx or smaller system and have some advice on stores and what not?
Here's the idea I've had. Build a functional silent machine, that can be used just to surf and screw around online which will run Ubuntu. That way I can run it 24/7, and not worry about power usage.
What I have is
2x512 DDR2 SODIMMS
SuperTalent 60GB SSD
What I need
Mini-ITX or Smaller Board that takes SO-DIMM and SATA
Case
Slim (ie Laptop) CD-ROM (whatever is cheaper, whether its a CD/CDRW/DVD/DVD-RW)
PSU
I've looked into VIA, but any suggestions are welcome

Re: Mini-ITX or Smaller?
I just got in that Intel Atom board, which is mini-ITX and I have the VIA Nano platform here (under NDA) as well... What benchmarks would you like to see?

This sounds like an interesting build, I would like to find out how it goes. I have been playing with the idea of making a small form factor media center machine for the living room.

Re: Mini-ITX or Smaller?
Atom kits are out (NCIX in Canada carries them, not sure about other retailers..), but they're using the 945 which consumes way more power than the CPU itself... I'd hold on and wait for VIA or a better Intel platform
I thought about doing this too
