I should not be awake right now!!!

Post by Sporg »

Seriously, I hate my smoke detectors!!! I have these goofy FireX smoke detectors that are AC/DC - they have and AC power supply as well as the DC battery and they're all linked together. Anyway, every so often they flake out and one will start chirping in the middle of the night. It's not necessarily a battery that needs to be replaced. One will just flake out. Of course, it only happens in the middle of the night and it's infrequent enough that it takes a while to figure out which one it is. I've been sitting here 20 minutes waiting for it to go off again and it hasn't. I bet as soon as I'm about to fall asleep it will sound again. I'm not really looking for anything insightful or helpful - other than a large hammer maybe. Just felt like ranting about the stupid detectors.

On a side note I was trying to pass Kappage and beat him to the top 100 of the folding list. Looks like he got there first

Okay, time to drag my sorry butt back to bed.

how do you do it? for me no matter what i try i just cant get up early for work. ive tried it all, from 110 DB+ alarm clocks to even trying to set up a rube golburg machine to pour a glass of water on my head when my alarm clock went off (didnt work out to well, lets just say the wife wasnt happy, and if shes not happy no one's happy)

I'm just not a heavy sleeper. For me its purely easier. I have no traffic going in and little traffic coming home. If I leave at 7, its gonna take me an 1hr to get in and 2 to get home, as opposed to 30 going in and an 1hr coming home

i actually did, what i had was a glass of cold water above where i sleep, connected to a string (a thin one) and said string was put inbetween the blades of a pair of cheap electric scissors, said sissors were activated by way of a circuit i hooked up to the alarm clock to go off the same way it sets the alarm off (this only worked on a crappy old analogue alarm clock with the numbers that rotate) the only problem is i got a big ol' bumb on my head when i tried to use it because the whole damn cup fell with out tipping the water (thus making it heavy) :drinkers: i decided, well it woke me up! so i tried again the next night when it fell on my wife  like i said, if shes not happy noones happy!

Sporg, disconnect your smoke detector and buy a new one. skierkid450, go see a doctor, you may have a sinus infection.
