Russia and Georgia conflict
What does the forum think is going to happen. Natasha is from Moscow, Russia and she thinks that the Georgia president is a liar and will do everything to pull the U.S. into this conflict. All in the sake of rebuilding the country and to stay president of his country. What do you think?
Re: Russia and Georgia conflict
It is a civil war. If those two regions want to be their own entity I say let them go ahead.

Re: Russia and Georgia conflict
When it comes to politics anything is possible. But Moscow doesn't necessarily have the best track record over the years, and neither do we for that matter. Georgia probably postured and Russia brought the hammer.

Those are my feelings as well. I think that Georgia started all of this and Russia brought the hammer. I do think that Russia should not have gone past Georgia's border. So I guess I think that they are both to blame.

No it isn't. It is about a big boy who is giving weapons to rebels. The rebels are shelling the other regions with the weapons given by the big boy. The small country finally says, "Enough." So they send in the troops to disarm them. The Big Boy uses the moment to his advantage and invades.vicaphit wrote:It is a civil war. Re: Russia and Georgia conflict
It all started because South Ossetia wanted to break from Georgia right?

Re: Russia and Georgia conflict
The latest I have been hearing, and by the way, I don't know what to believe anymore, is that Georgia started it and I think Russia was just waiting for a reason to attack. Question is, what is going to happen next. Does Georgia sign the cease-fire agreement? I don't think they have a choice. One other thing I heard that was interesting was that the Georgia president was up for re-election. Everytime I hear the President of Georgia talk makes me want to turn the tv off due to is ranting. It's like Russia and Georgia want to start WWIII. I even have issues with the reporters. I don't think they fully understand whats going on and are just talking to make it look like they have something to say. I did see the women reporter get shot live on tv. Thats one tough lady. I'm sure there will be much more to come. I hope it's peace.

No, it started because those who wanted to break from Georgia didn't do it legally, they decided to cast their vote with artillery shells fired toward other regions in Georgia.vicaphit wrote:It all started because South Ossetia wanted to break from Georgia right?
Re: Russia and Georgia conflict
I think if russia can do it then we can do it too. They have no right to give us **** over iran etc in the future.
