Thermaltake big water 735 for $40 :)

My local radio shack had a 75% off sale - got the big water 735 for $40 and got an Aquarius II cl-w0038 for $10!!!!!

I know, you water coolers will say it is a crappy system :p but for me just starting out - this is the amount I would want to pay for water cooling!! Now I can play around and see how good this liquid stuff really is.

Now I have to figure out how to add the VGA block into the loop, install everything, and figure out which system to put it on. I dont think the 735 has enough gusto to coll my q6700 with f@h running on it, but maybe, MAYBE, one of the dual cores.

Any suggestions - PLEASE let me know!! - well except it being a crappy kit - LOL

For the price you got it at, it's a complete steal! And as such makes a very acceptable entry into watercooling.

When it comes time to mount the block, try to keep the pressure even from all four sides, so turn them a set number of times and do it in an 'X' pattern.

I guess you could try adding a second fan in a push-pull combo on the rad if you are slightly disappointed with the performance.

Other than that, it's a good $50 well spent.

THAT makes me feel better about spending the money I dont expect 10C temps, hell it might not even be as good as my air cooler (Freezer 7 Pro), but I am glad you said it was a good price..WHEW..lol...I kept checking the thread waiting for a response to see if I screwed up

Do you guys think I should run this in the Q6700? It is stock. Or would I be better off running it on one of the E6300 dual cores?

Also - would it be safe to remove that big honkin heatsink/fan on the 8800GT to run the waterblock (only matters if I run the system on the quad core - if not the highest end card I would have would be a 7600GT)?

I think throwing a Quad and 8800GT would be too much for that one little rad!

It might just cope with one or the other, but it would be a lot happier running on the other system you mentioned.

Just ordered more coolant yesterday from Amazon - so in about 8000 weeks when it gets here, I can finally try this puppy I LOVE free shipping, but Amazon is SOOOOOO slow .

I am just gonna either rig something to my one case, or let the thing kinda sit outside the case to try it out. Anyone know of a list of cases that this puppy would fit into?

you could probably have it hanging off the back, just take the screws that came with the rad for fans down to your local home depot and use the thread finder thing to find out what thread they are. then just buy some long screws, some nuts etc and have it hang off the back
