I was tempted to get an 8800gt for her computer, but I thought it might be overkill for an email and MS office machine.
Would you like one of these palit cards for her PC? I'd love to get these cards in the hands of people that are going to fold with them.
That would be freaking awesome. She barely uses her computer, and is always logged into the network. It would be folding pretty much 24/7 (I just need to set it to turn the monitor off and keep the computer running all the time.)

I wonder why Stanford hasn't released a Linux GPU client with CUDA already being available for Linux...

I'd take one too! Lol.

Sorry guys, school's starting and what not. However, I should have the GPU client up by the end of the week. I'm currently moving files, installing programs, etc. I also have to overclock both my CPUs too. They're gonna run the normal clients or normal + GPU.

Well if youd ask, any of us i think we would be biast, but i think there should be something along the lines of Folders, or people who try to fold as much as possible, which of course i would vote me. :finga:

I've been running 24/7 since I won the 4850 last month or so. Still trying to figure out how to get more PPD...

I agree with Dicceca!
Maybe have a drawing from dedicated folders!?!
Dedicated folder = someone who will guarantee 24/7 folding for whatever time period, 6mos. or more.

There in lies the rub.

Have a contest to bring in new blood, hope they say. Most in the past haven't, but if we don't try....

If we have it just for the dedicated folders we are improving our own stable of machines, but not giving any incentive to come here and stay.

Split the goods between? Give the dedicated something to fight over and still draw in new blood.

Either way I need to get my test bench box put back together so I can take part some what, my old P4 rigs just don't cut it anymore.

i agree, and with people that have been dedicated folders you have some degree of assurance that they will be put to use to continue contributing to LR.
