PS3 folding!!!

Post by smack323 »

my PS3 has been running for a few days now and for whatever reason it is not registering my points. when i goo to my stats lookup it doesnt even show it as and active CPU/GPU. I currently have 5 other computers folding and those seem to be working fine. I have entered my user name and team# in the PS3 client. Does anyone else use a PS3 to fold? have you run into the same problems?

The only thing I would guess at is that the PS3 servers are all full and your PS3 has completed work in the queue and can't send it back, or can't get any work sent.

Presume the internet etc works ok on it?

Sorry, not trying to dig up an old thread for the heck of it, but I do have a question. What kind of PPD production are you seeing out of your PS3?

i havent had it running alone so i am not exactly sure what the PPD are. I do not know how to check this either. but i am guestimating about 1000-1200PPD.

I know my buddy was showing 1250 points for the unit he completed, but I'm not sure what the time frame was for that.

I was asking because depending on the outcome of the folding contest I may either put together another rig or just get a ps3 and let it fold. I really don't have any use for a ps3, but $400 for a decent amount of points might be worth it. On the other hand the wife needs a different rig and I think I have her about half-convinced. I'm hoping we have a good 3rd quarter and a decent bonus. If that's the case then either option would be viable.

Thanks for the input so far guys.
