What a way to start the weekend! 8-(

Here it is almost 7pm on Friday and I'm still at effing work.

Boss comes in and inundates me with a bunch of crap that HAS to be done today. Kept me on phone and searching for a part for over 2 hours this afternoon which threw me WAY behind on my regular Friday stuff like accounting, invoices, etc. So here I sit trying to finish up the last computer having just printed and prepped 40+ invoices and statements.

Sometimes I hate my life

If only that were true. I feel like a fricking endentured servant here. But at least he pays for my health insurance which is a good thing with Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease.

Truth be known I'm working on an opportunity to open my own business which hopefully won't take long to turn into full time. It's not exactly computer-related but it's something I can do from home (and I'll need a computer!) Essentially it's display merchandising combined with catalog sales. I did it back in the mid-80s and it worked pretty well but I got transferred and just kinda let it go. I was making killer money at the time and I was too short-sighted to keep it up. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

I love computers but I'm getting to the point that they're a much better hobby than source of income at least from the repair/upgrade business point of view.

Sorry, I'm just in the doldrums today. Feeling pretty negative all 'round. and now it's 5 pm so I can get outta here and go home.

Ask for a raise or quit. Better yet, call in sick for a few days due to stress. Then ask for a raise. Don't forget a doctors note. Get a lawyer and sue the company for stress. Keep a diary and write down everything that ticks you off. That can be used in court. Age and wage discrimination comes to mind. You just need to find the right lawyer. Best thing to do is say I'm not feeling well and I need to go home. They, by law, have to send you home.

Unfortunately I'm not the litigious type. Got to hang on to this POS job for the time being because outside of all the yelling screaming bitching and belittling, he is very flexible about all the doctor appointments I have ( and I have on average 6 a month) It's also awkward because my boss is married to my wife's best friend since 3rd grade (almost 40 years) Although lately there's no love lost between the wives, especially since my father-in-law passed away (another long story), it's just really awkward mixing personal and business, y'know?

Hoping the new endeavor will soon match my salary here and I can give the boss the (and the ) and be on my merry way.

Enough bitching for one day Got 4 on the bench, better get to work.
