well..i'd say to be ninja like and just throw it in the rig before she knows it...but when I begin to rationally think this through, that could mean a bigger doghouse for you

Well, my experience has been just look pitiful, man up and then for the coup de gras, offer to send it back. That approach can sometimes backfire of course, but 99% of the time they say "no" because you're still out money by returning it.

But who am I to give advice I'm on my 4th wife  As the guy said in "The Gods Must Be Crazy"---"..I only know how to marry them. NOBODY knows how to live with them!"

Good luck with your quandary! [-o<

Ack! You're just trying to make it tougher on me to run you back down aren't you?! I had a slight set back this weekend in getting my dedicated folding rig up, either my mobo or my Phenom was a victim of Ike. #-o

NICE!! Can't wait to see it added to the Team. I'm just waiting for Asus to email me back the RMA info and I'll lose 5k a day until they get my mobo back to me, and then I'll be adding 5k over my current productivity.

OK, I put the card on last evening and have it overclocked to Core-700, Shader-1750, and Memory-902. :) I had it up past 800 on the core, but it kept crashing the driver when I opened the f@h display. I might try it today at that setting without opening anything and see if it still crashes. With the dual bay cooler thingy on it, it stays cooler than my 8800GT! Now I do use the Rivatuner to regulate the fan speed, the same way I do on the 8800GT.

Stock core is 550mhz, so 150mhz over is pretty nice for me!

Mike

Now if I had 30 of these puppies. I could go for the top spot..lol

177.92 - beta

Tried 175.19 - told me there was missing Cuda parts
Tried 177.35 - told me I didnt have a compatible video card installed - LOL

So the beta seems to work fine, so I left it on :)

if you want maximum folding performance than you should drop the core and mem to reduce heat and only oc the shaders and get them as high as you can

Heat? What heat? lol - hell it seems stable at 745/1862/902 and with the GPU F@H running I never saw it get above 63C!!! It is WAY cooler than my 8800GT!

Now I dont know if I could up the mem any more, but i read people had problems with ocing the mem very far so I stopped at 902.

Do you think I could get more shader oc with either dropping the others to stock or just raising the shader by itself? I have it set to go with the core right now. 2065mhz is the max it goes to in rivatuner, so I could do another 203mhz on the shaders max - is it worth it?

yeah... for folding, the main thing is max shaders. Pushing the other clocks higher only tends to lead to unstable_machine or EUE from what I've seen.
